Picture Yourself Not Being Able to Read or Write

Can you imagine yourself not being able to read or write? How would that make you feel? In our world today, there are more and more children that cannot read or write. We are currently in the 21rst century, that it is upsetting to see many students not being able to read or write by the time they enter high school. School districts are starting to place more emphasis on their reading programs to help the struggling readers and writers. I have attached a few videos of some students that have faced many struggles with reading and writing. One of the students stated, "If you do not put your mind into something, then it will not be achieved." Growing up as a child, I remember my parents constantly telling me that if you don't work hard on your own, then you will not be able to achieve success. I hope that after watching these videos, the topic of reading and writing will pull on your heart strings.
